Take a lovestruck bridegroom, a count with nefarious intentions and the music of Mozart and what do you have? "The Marriage of Figaro," a cornerstone of the opera world performed by Peach State Opera on Sept. 14 and 16 at Georgia Perimeter College in Clarkston. Both performances begin with a talk by Carter Joseph, an Atlanta Opera board member and host of the Opera 101 series. A meet-the-artists reception follows the final curtain on Friday. Expect mistaken identities, a twisty plot and timeless music.
