The world-class High Museum of Art awaits you. Slip in for a few fun hours and see brain-tickling work from visual artists near and far. Ongoing: Howard Finster: Paradise Garden, the largest collection of the late self-taught artist’s work outside of his Paradise Garden homestead in Summerville, Ga. Through Feb. 26: Arbus, Avedon and Winograd, a selection of works from Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon and Garry Winogrand, the most innovative American photographers of the 1960s and ‘70s, whose work changed the course of modern photography. And running April 1-Jan. 21, 2018, is Painter and Poet: The Wonderful World of Ashley Bryan, which continues the High’s series of picture-book art exhibitions. This show includes more than 70 works of art from 20 of the Maine author’s books, eight of his African art-inspired puppets and a biographical video.
